This is a bittersweet event that I report to you all... Aurora went to her first day of school today.

I thought she would cry. She didn't, I did.
I thought she would ask me to stay. She didn't, but I wanted to.

I think this was a bigger step for me than it was for her. I think I missed her way more than she missed me.

SO how did this all come about? Well.... Aurora's best friend goes to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and is always telling Aurora how great her school is, and how much fun she has and Aurora really wanted to go to school as well. (She also wants to go to ballet for the same reason.)
It took me a while to get on board with the idea of giving her up, even if it is just 8:30-11:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays. But this week when a spot became available, we went and signed up. She is going to Beautiful Savior PreSchool, its just down the road from our house. That made today her first day of school!

Making a List, Checking it Twice.

We're going to Germany - isn't that nice!?

John's dad is retiring from the Air Force after (nearly?) 40 years. My family is so excited to be going as well!!! I bought Aurora's dresses for the Retirement Ceremony and Party this week. She's going to be the best dressed - I'm sure of it!

I'm already stressing out a little about packing up, and the details of traveling with a 3 year old. I have to think about gear to travel with (the stroller, the car seat, the airplane seat belt from kids fly safe...), snacks for Aurora (juice, milk, munchies.... since airline food is so... well... you know), and things to keep her busy for the flight.

The whole trip should be great though, just in time for Christmas Markets, and possibly snow!!! We will be there just before Thanksgiving and will stay for a few weeks.

Just Another Day in this Life

Aurora walks up to me and says, "Momma, knock me out."

I pretend to punch her. She falls over. Then she says to Maddie, "My momma knocked me out."

Maddie says, "She can't. You're my best friend."

Aurora tells her, "Yes she can. SHE'S THE MOMMA!!!"

Oh I love this life I live.

Toy Story 3 on Ice

Downtown Nashville

We went to Nashville Saturday, to the Bridgestone Arena. That is where we got to see Toy Story 3.... performed ON ICE!!! We were superbly lucky to have been able to go to this event, because the tickets were FREE! That's right friends, free. There were hundreds of tickets donated to the families of Fort Campbell.
