Hello every one, I am creating a blog off of MySpace so that you all will be able to have access to it at any time. The link to this new blog is http://mabeslove.blogspot.com/ please save it, follow us, and enjoy our updates from now and into the future. (also, please feel free to share the link with the friends and Family that I don't have on our mailing list) I will be trying my best to continue to post monthly, or as close to monthly as I remember to!
For instance, my last update went out on June 7th, and here it is at the End of August and I haven't updated in between.... sorry. Additionally, this long gap means I am leaving some things out (July 4th). again sorry. But I do PLAN to be better, and that my dears is the best I can offer for now.
Now for our update:
We've been gardening, Aurora and I. Aurora has Pumpkins, and I have tomatoes, bell peppers, Jalapenos, and herbs. I honestly am amazed that they are still alive after all this heat, I have been afraid to go outside most days for fear of MELTING! Aurora doesn't seem to mind though as long as I turn the water on for her.
She is so proud of her pumpkins. I can 't quite get her to leave them on the vines though :)
We aren't afraid to drink straight from the hose!
Our garden looks like a jungle some days!
I'm beginning to notice a trend in our monthly adventures. Travel. We sure do love to travel. over June, July, and August we went to South Ga., North Ga., South Al., and North Al. Now these are our frequent stops, where we go to visit family. This got me thinking about other places We would like to go.... Washington DC, Washington state, Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Australia, "four corners"... really I'd like to go EVERYWHERE. is that possible?
while we were in Alabama, we attended nanny's birthday celebration. Friends and Family came from all over to celebrate with us, we really did enjoy our time seeing all the family that we usually don't see !!
As an added bonus we got to see my goddaughter Evelyn, and her momma and daddy Jasmin and Sam, while we were in town. Aurora and I are absolutely in LOVE with her :) As any one that has met her also seems to be.
Speaking of Baby Love:
On June 12th baby Zach was born in South Ga. We were able to go see him in the first week, and of course... LOVE. all this baby love is almost enough to make a girl want another... ALMOST, but not quite.
Aurora is really good at holding babies though, she sits very still, and uses both hands. She coos "its alright." and gets passies back in mouths.... awww...
Baby Zach is SOOO dramatic! and so adorable! and also already 10 times this size! This photo is from June, and he's an even bigger chunk of adorableness now!
We got to spend lots of time during all our adventuring with Nana, Grammie, Grandad, and Linda. It is always nice to spend time with treasured loved ones.
Grandad and Grammie took us all to the Okefenokee (did i spell that right?) Swamp in Way Cross Ga. it was really neat to take Aurora on the boat ride through the swamp and see the turtles and alligators. Aurora is afraid of NOTHING, and if we hadn't stopped her I bet she would have gone right up to the big gators and kissed them!
Here she is holding a chicken turtle. The guide just reached down in the water, and handed it to her. "Daddy, he likes me!" she said.
Here we are hanging out on the boat with granddad. It was a very hot day, but we all were having a good time together.
Talking granddad talk about gators and bugs! There is something magical about the conversations between granddad's and grand kids.

When we went to the Nature Show, the teacher called Aurora up to the front and put a baby gator right on her head! I'm so glad that she's fearless! |

Aurora sat with Grammie on the train ride through the park. |
Our swamp trip was really awesome!
As for the most recent updates of the month:
John is Rear D Commander here at Fort Campbell. That means... that means we are here until, well... until the Army changes their mind. we jsut take things a day at a time and in stride around here!
I am nearly finished with my Doula training. I have finished the anatomy and physiology section of the course, and got all A's!!! I have a couple book reports to write, and I am DONE! I should be able to start up my own business after that :) I'm also looking into more in-depth certifications for Lactation Consultant through the same school.
Aurora will be 3 next month! THREE!! wow. some days it doesn't seem like that long, and others it seems like so so sooooo much more. We are having her birthday party on September 25th, here in Tennessee - actual location to be determined.
She is wearing sized 3t clothes now, and loves footed pajamas this week. Her favorite things to do right now are catch bugs, swim, color, and play on the computer. We have a couple of kid friendly toys attached to the laptop for her to use that keep her on kid-safe activities all the time. there are a plethora of things I want for her, i have amazon lists for nearly everything - listing is my guilty pleasure, list list list....
Recently this week we have cut out nap time. That isn't to say that she doesn't NEED a nap, and that she wouldn't nap if we slowed down long enough, BUT without nap time, bed time has moved up an hour or so and middle of the night visits to my bed seem to be postponed to nearly 5am. lesser of 2 evils there.
and here are a bunch of photos that I LOVE, and wanted to share with you all! I don't have much to say about them except that they are photos I took and edited.
My little tiger girl!
love and kisses - M
